For actor Sumeet Vyas, his stint on the web proved to be quite fruitful, so much so that web shows such as Permanent Roommates and Tripling have made him a digital sensation and opened many doors for him.

Though the actor shares he has been getting new and better offers, the toughest part, he says, is to “face the dilemma” of whether to say yes to the project or not.

“After getting popular, every day an opportunity comes your way, and also goes away very fast. Some offers look so lucrative, but when you don’t end up doing certain projects which later turn out to be great, it makes you regret not doing it,” he shares.

Last seen in Veere Di Wedding (2018) as Kareena Kapoor Khan’s love interest, Sumeet will next be seen in yet another commercial potboiler, Made in China, co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy. And he admits that he remains conscious of not giving in to the “temptations” that come along with the offers.

He explains, “Sometimes, the temptation is money. Sometimes, it’s the fame that a project can get you. But, I always look at the bigger picture, and have a view of the larger arch of my career. I take time to analyse whether the role is different from what I’ve already done and if I’m moving ahead as an actor, an artist and performer by doing that part.”

The 35-year-old actor feels that for any creative person — an actor or a director, “it’s about constantly finding a job, at times you get selected, or you have to face rejections, too.”

However, getting rejected is not something that has deterred him. Having faced it on multiple occasions due to various reasons, Sumeet shares, “Rejections do make you feel bad but it also made me realise my capabilities. It is more to do with whether you suit the part or the story or not. But, at the end of the day, it is one hope that has gotten crushed and that is the biggest challenge... to not let anything affect you, and you keep moving forward. That’s what made me keep going in my tough times.”

Singer-songwriter Nakash Aziz is pretty upbeat about the future of Indian pop music. The 34-year-old feels the Internet has helped Indian pop music receive the right kind of response, and hopes Indian musicians will soon be at par with some of the

biggest names in the world.

“It will only become better for us and I would love it if Indian pop music becomes global,” says the singer, known for hits such as Saree Ke Fall Sa (R... Rajkumar, 2013) , Selfie Le Le Re (Bajrangi Bhaijan, 2015) and the recently released song, BSlow Motion from the upcoming Bharat.

Nakash is also keen on being part of a song that is an international chartbuster. “I really hope that with the kind of exposure one is getting, my songs also become popular. If I am able to be part of a song that becomes big and global like a Gangnam Style (by South Korean musician, Psy), that will be great,” he says.

The singer wonders how musicians worked during the times when there were CDs and casettes. “I also think if earning money was easier back then, compared to now, because I have not worked during that time. But what I do know is the fact that because of the Internet, today an artist just has to showcase their talent and not worry about anything. If that talent is good, people will listen to it, and that’s a great thing. If you are good, then the whole world will stand up and see,” he wraps up.

It will only become better for us and I would love it if Indian pop music becomes global. I really hope that with the kind of exposure one is getting, my songs also become popular.
