He has done transplant­s for world famous sportsmen, film stars and business tycoons. He knows startling secrets, the kinds that tabloids would die to get. But of course he won’t ever spill them. As a hair restoratio­n surgeon, his job is to observe strict confidenti­ality. Dubai-based Sajjad Khan has been in the hair transplant business for more than 30 years. He says he loves what he does and finds solace when he sees his clients happy and contented. “I like to be in touch with them. I still go and meet them, they invite me for parties and birthdays so I’m still a part of their lives. I sign NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) so I can’t reveal their identities but they are all household names. They are talented but it helps them to maintain good looks. Actor Soha Ali Khan is quite serious when it comes to her fitness and diet plans. The 41-year-old feels maintainin­g a strict fitness regime and diet pattern has helped her immensely, not just on a personal level, but on a profession­al level as well. “I follow a training routine that focuses not just on my day to day goals but on longevity. It requires a lot of dedication and patience with the correct approach and takes real hard work and will to endure our body. This has helped me attain discipline in life, which has certainly helped me a lot in my profession,” she says. as their looks changed and people asked them about it. They told their friends ‘Yes, we have got it done’,” says Dr Khan, who was recently in the Capital on a tour.

Dr Khan, who’s a regular face at glam parties thrown by Bollywood superstars, narrates how while growing up, he loved watching Hindi movies. He used to admire one of the reigning stars of the ‘70s, loved for his ‘chocolate boy’ looks. Dr Khan could hardly believe when the same star called him to get hair transplant. Dr Khan couldn’t contain his excitement. “Gosh, your voice sounds the same as in the movies!,’ I exclaimed, and he said, ‘That’s because it’s the same guy’,” chuckles Dr Khan. The star had a successful hair transplant and the doctor and his famous client have remained in touch after all these years.

It’s important to have a mindful and active morning, as it sets the tone for the day. This could be easily done with yoga and pranayama. I usually choose a calm place at home and do pranayama for about five to 10 minutes. This helps me streamline my thoughts and centre my focus. For Soha, diet is as important as her fitness regime. “One’s approach to nutrition says a lot about values and health goals. It is important to indulge in a healthy breakfast as it fuels me with energy that takes us through most of the morning,” she says.

I plan my meals so that I make healthy meal choices. I need my dose of energy as I mostly wake up feeling hungry. So, I snack on something healthy to pack in the right nutrients before I start with my morning exercise session.

The surgeon believes that hair transplant can bring back confidence and thus transform lives. “Though, if caught at the right time, hair loss can be treated and a transplant won’t be necessary.
