This is his tenth year in Bollywood and Akshay Oberoi has grown his repertoire with diverse roles over the years. The actor, who has gone through ups and downs in his career, says he’s still motivated by good stories, and not the profession’s financial and fame aspects.

“The whole process of choosing stems from intuition. I love this job and it comes from the heart, a place of emotion. It’s not something I strategise... I don’t think that if I work with a certain producer, I’ll benefit and my popularity will increase. I don’t do projects thinking about increasing my social media following. I’ve even done projects because I wanted to work with a certain actor. I don’t plan too much,” shares Akshay, who made his

Bollywood debut with Isi Life Mein (2010).

The roles he plays are starkly different from one another, and not just in terms of characters. He says, “I love to do physically different roles. That’s my USP, I feel. People don’t realise that the actor in Pizza (2014) is the same as that in Kaalakaandi (2018). I try and change my look, my body language,” he says.

Last year was busy for Akshay, who had three films Bombairiya, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and Junglee, besides his web projects. This year won’t be any different as he stars in KTina opposite Disha Patani and has two other films. “I’m hoping to do more web work. I also like the idea of revisiting my characters, so I hope my web projects would get a season 2 order too,” he says.
