I feel unbearable pain: Akshay Kumar pens emotional note on mother’s death
Akshay Kumar’s mother, Aruna Bhatia, passed away on Wednesday morning. She had been unwell and was admitted in a Mumbai hospital for the last few days.
Sharing the news on Twitter, the actor wrote in an emotional note: “She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti.”
He was shooting for Cinderella in the UK but returned to Mumbai on Monday to be by his mother’s side. Kumar had asked fans to pray for his ailing mother. “Touched beyond words at your concern for my mom’s health. This is a very tough hour for me and my family. Every single prayer of yours would greatly help,” he had tweeted. And his fans had tweeted they’ve cancelled the actor’s birthday celebrations for September 9.
On Wednesday, many industry friends, including filmmakers R Balki, Rohit Shetty, Vipul Shah, Ramesh Taurani and Sajid Khan, and actor Riteish Deshmukh attended his mother’s funeral and paid their last respects.
Condolences also poured in on social media. Ajay Devgn wrote, “Dear Akki, Heartfelt condolences on your mother’s passing away. May Arunaji’s soul find eternal peace. Condolences to you & your family. Om Shanti.” Salman Khan, too, expressed his condolences. “Dear Akki, very sad to hear of the passing of your mother. May she rest in peace. My deepest condolences to you and your entire family,” Khan tweeted.
