6 can­di­dates faint in ex­am­i­na­tion hall

PATNA: Six can­di­dates ap­pear­ing in the ex­am­i­na­tion of depart­ment of elec­tron­ics and ac­cred­i­ta­tion of com­puter cour­ses (DOEACC) at Ad­harshila com­plex near RBI of­fice, Gandhi Maidan, fainted in quick suc­ces­sion in the ex­am­i­na­tion hall.

“We first thought that the pres­sure of the ex­am­i­na­tion was the rea­son be­hind the in­ci­dent. But we later smelled LPG gas inside the hall. That could be the rea­son they be­came un­con­scious,” said an ex­am­i­nee.

On get­ting in­for­ma­tion, sta­tion house of­fi­cer (SHO) of Gandhi Maidan po­lice sta­tion,

Rabindu Prasad rushed to the spot and talked to the peo­ple to as­cer­tain the cause of the in­ci­dent.

“Prima fa­cie, it ap­peared that the rea­son was some­thing else other than gas leak­age. We are try­ing to gather facts as to why students fainted,” said Prasad.

Prasad sent all the ex­am­i­nees - around 40 - to PMCH for check-up, where they were re­leased af­ter first aid.
