PATNA: The Indira Gandhi In­sti­tute of Med­i­cal Sciences (IGIMS) in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the In­dian As­so­ci­a­tion of En­do­scopic Sur­geons will con­duct a 4-day fel­low­ship pro­gramme for en­do­scopic sur­geons be­gin­ning Oc­to­ber 4.

Talk­ing to news­men here on Satur­day, di­rec­tor of the IGIMS, Dr Arun Ku­mar, said that the fel­low­ship course had been de­signed to de­velop the skills of la­paro­scopic sur­geons in the state. The course pres­i­dent would be Dr AP Sinha, while Dr Vi­jay Ku­mar Mit­tal would be the course di­rec­tor, he said.

Well know la­paro­scopic sur­geons Dr Pradeep Chow­bey, Dr Ra­jesh Khullar and Dr HP Garg from New Delhi would im­part train­ing to the par­tic­i­pants on the lat­est developments in the field, he said. Sev­eral ex­perts of the state in­clud­ing Dr VK Mit­tal and Dr KK Kanth would share their ex­pe­ri­ences with the par­tic­i­pants. They would also con­duct live surg­eries dur­ing the fel­low­ship pro­gramme, he said. He in­formed, a writ­ten ex­am­i­na­tion would be con­ducted to test the skill of the can­di­dates at the end of the pro­gramme, on the ba­sis of which, cer­tifi­cates would be awarded to the par­tic­i­pants.
