The 19-year-old was a BA part-1 stu­dent of GN Mishra Col­lege at nearby Parsathua vil­lag. Her father had died about 13 years ago. Fam­ily mem­bers said her mar­riage had been fixed with an em­ployed youth of Ahin­aura vil­lage and they were al­ready mak­ing prepa­ra­tions for the wed­ding.

Mean­while, four boys ab­ducted a girl stu­dent and in­jured her when she re­sisted their rape at­tempt un­der town po­lice sta­tion at Sa­harsa on Satur­day.

Po­lice said the girl, a Class 10 stu­dent of a dis­trict girls' high school was ab­ducted by the boys when she was re­turn­ing from school to her home in San­jala lo­cal­ity of Sa­harsa.

Af­ter lift­ing the girl, the boys tried to out­rage her mod­esty in­side a ve­hi­cle. The girl strongly re­sisted the at­tempts of the boys who out of rage at­tacked in­jured her by blades.

The sources said that act­ing bravely, the girl foiled the rape at­tempt and man­aged to jump out of the ve­hi­cle.

The in­jured girl was im­me­di­ately rushed to the hospi­tal by the lo­cal peo­ple.

An FIR was lodged against five named ac­cused in this con­nec­tion at the po­lice sta­tion con­cerned. Raids were on to nab the cul­prits.
