India’s love for the gentleman’s game isn’t unknown. Be it on the field or off it, Indians never miss any opportunity to enjoy everything about cricket. So when Suvam Pal launched his book, The HarperCollins Book of World Cup Trivia, at a bookstore in Kolkata, the space was chock-ablock with the lovers of the game. Sensing the pulse of the audience, Pal, a self-confessed cricket enthusiast shared a few interesting facts about cricket.

“Like everyone else I also love cricket,” says Pal adding, “If you ask me why I have written this book then I would say that after reading a lot of books on cricket, I haven’t come across any book that gives you a proper history of the World Cup. It gave me the idea and I started my research to pen this book.” Pal also shared that he has mostly watched World Cup matches on the small screen. “I have only watched two World Cup games live so far. Along with watching cricket, I am always interested in knowing the facts and the history behind the game. But being a science student I couldn’t write a history book so I thought of writing this book on World Cup trivia. My book is a quizzer’s delight,” says Pal.

Talking about his upcoming projects, Pal said that he is currently writing for a TV show based on the glorious history of Indian cricket and actor Naseeruddin Shah will host it. Next, he is planning to write a book on untold stories of Indian cricket.
