PATRALEKHAA SUPPORTS WOMEN ARTISANS
Recently, a clothing brand that is into Indian textiles approached actor Patralekhaa for a special campaign. As the organisation supports artisans in their craft and has an all-women team, they strongly promote woman empowerment. Patralekhaa has agreed to be part of the campaign and apparently won’t be charging a fee for the same.
When contacted, the actor said, “I was extremely glad that they thought I’d work with them and be the face [of the campaign]. I personally love wearing outfits which are made by artisans, as they are very unique. A lot of brands have collaborated with organisations which promote these weavers because they are becoming extinct. Because I am so keen to know about how they work, I immediately agreed to be part.”
She adds, “In small towns, it’s very hard to earn a living. Even now, a big part of society is struggling to lead a normal life. In these towns, women are essentially the bread earners. It’s just my way of contributing to society.”
