There’s not a lot of recognition for art in Bihar: Pankaj Tripathi

-

After numerous releases this year, Pankaj Tripathi who was awarded the Bihar Samman, in April, has received yet another honour from his home state. He was awarded by the Bihar Foundation Mumbai Chapter, a recognized organisation run by the Government of Bihar with a branch in Mumbai. The foundation recognises citizens from Bihar who make a mark and promote their state as well. The Masaan (2015) actor is actively associated with causes related to his home town Gopalganj, Bihar, and works towards the betterment of the place.

Pankaj says, “I am very happy that my home state has recognised my work and my people from back home have recognised my work and felicitated me so. There’s not a

lot of recognition for art in Bihar. In fact, there are very actors who have come to Bollywood who have become successful in the industry. Bihar is known for giving us

leading IAS and IPS officers. So, if a Bihari works in an art film, other people from his town feel extremely proud of the fact that one of their people has managed to make his name in such the big world of cinema.”
