Rishi Kapoor is the most honest person I’ve ever met: Anirudh

For debutant Anirudh Tanwar, who has worked closely with director Leena Yadav in the capacity of a production assistant, it was a dream when he bagged his debut role in Leena’s soon-tobe released film. And the icing on the cake is that he plays the role of actor Rishi Kapoor’s son in the film.

“I never thought I’d get the opportunity to work with Rishi sir in my debut film,” says Anirudh, who recalls his first shot with the senior actor.

“In my first scene, I had to shout at him. I wasn’t sure how I’d be able to do it. But, I somehow managed it, and he was supportive. After the shoot got over, when I went to touch his feet, he was very sweet and warm, and told me ‘Don’t touch my feet, you are a co-actor’. He praised my work and encouraged me to work hard,” shares Anirudh, who calls Kapoor one of the “most honest people” he has ever come across.

“Whether he likes or dislikes something, he’ll tell it to your face. Despite being so senior, he never had any starry airs. He’d always be cooperative and give me cues. I watched him closely; the way he’d be in front of the camera, expressing himself, is so amazing,” says Anirudh, who has stayed in touch with Kapoor after the film’s shoot.

Asked if he has any update on Kapoor’s health who is in the US undergoing treatment, Anirudh says, “Sir was doing well during our shoot. One day, Leena told us he isn’t keeping well and will be going to the US. I wish him speedy recovery. I’m in touch with him via messages.”

I never buy this ‘womenoriented’ term. I’ve been hearing this term since 2012 when English Vinglish was coming.
