I’m a part of Sadak 2 by default even though I can’t obviously act in it: Soni Razdan

Actor Soni Razdan’s film, Yours Truly, which was recently screened at the Busan International Film Festival, opened to a good response. Her husband, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, too, makes a special appearance in the film; it marks Bhatt’s debut as an actor. While the husband-wife duo didn’t share screen space, Soni says she did see him giving his shot on the set.

“I didn’t really have a chance to directly interact with him on screen. He is obviously not an actor. He is a director because that’s who he is. But even with that, he has done a damn good job in the film.

He is endearing on screen and it’s lovely to see him. He works very sincerely and when he gets into his character, I could actually not see the real Mahesh Bhatt. But with whatever little time he had on screen, he was very good. It is also very kind of him to do cameos,” says Soni.

Bhatt recently announced his comeback to direction after 19 years with Sadak 2. The film will star Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Soni and Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter, Alia Bhatt. Soni is excited about the second part of the film, which is a sequel to the iconic 1991 hit, one that she was a part of.

Talking about the film she says, “I can’t obviously act in it because I was in Sadak and I died in that, so unless I get resurrected from the dead, I can’t be a part of the film. But, I am a part of it by default.

It’s happening all in the family. And whenever I am free, I can assure you that I will be on set. I will make sure I am a part of it and I will be there for all the moral support and cheerleading everybody on and enjoying the fact that everyone is working together and having fun.”
