False start: Kabir Khan not replacing Vikas Bahl to helm Hrithik’s film

-

Thanks to Super 30, Hrithik Roshan will keep a date with box office next year. But way before the film headed towards its release date, it started making news owing to allegations of sexual harassment against the director of the film, Vikas Bahl. A few days back, reports were rife that in Vikas’ absence, Hrithik had started working on the post-production of the film. But, in the latest instance, reports suggested that after makers decided to drop Vikas from the project, film-maker Kabir Khan had stepped in to complete the film, which is reportedly around 90% complete.

Reports further stated that Kabir, who apparently “saw the gravity of the situation”, decided to come on board to “tie up the loose ends” and do all the post-production work for Super 30 — a film based on the life of Bihari mathematician, Anand Kumar. What also helped — as per reports — is the fact that Kabir shares a “terrific rapport” with Hrithik. As of now, the film is slated to hit theatres on January 25 next year. On the same day, the Kangana Ranaut-starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is also lined up for release.

But sources close to Kabir deny him “coming on board” wondering “where is the time”

or Kabir to “take over any ew film at this point”. When contacted, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) film-maker also concurs. “The news is absolutely false. I don’t know where it has come from. I am already neck-deep into ’83, which leaves me with no time to take up any other assignment at this point. It’s a very challenging film,” he told us. The Ranveer Singh-starrer ’83 is based on Indian cricket team’s historic victory in the 1983 cricket World Cup.

The news is absolutely false. I am neckdeep nto ’83, which leaves me with no time to take up any other assignment at this point.
