SHANAYA IS WORKING HARD FOR HER DEBUT
Actorproducer Sanjay Kapoor says he wants his daughter to make it in the industry on her own
Hailing from a film family, with all her uncles including Anil Kapoor and siblings Arjun Kapoor and Sonam K Ahuja already established names in the industry, it was just a matter of time before Shanaya Kapoor, too, thought of becoming an actor.
Her father, Sanjay Kapoor says he is really proud to see how his daughter is prepping herself for her entry as an actor in Bollywood.
Shanaya’s good friends, Suhana Khan, daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, and Ananya Panday, daughter of Chunky Panday, are also set to make their Bollywood debuts soon.
Sanjay says that his daughter is aware of the challenges that await her when she enters the movie business and is happy to see how hard she is working.
“This is a beautiful industry but I have told her that it is not easy and that she has to work very hard. She sees her father, her cousins, Anil chachu especially who has been in the industry for 35 years and is still so very passionate about work. She has been a part of the film industry since she was born and has seen things change in the industry,” shares Sanjay.
He further says, “She is aware that if she is serious about a career in films, she has to go through a lot. She has to give her best shot, which I am sure she will and she has to get a good director who will launch her.”
There are reports that Shanaya will be launched by filmmaker Karan Johar. When asked who he would like to see launch Shanaya in Bollywood, Sanjay, who is also a producer having backed Tevar (2014), says he would prefer his daughter to be launched by someone other than her father. “Right now, I would prefer that she starts working with someone else. She has to start on her own. I would like that to see her make it on her own… She is working very hard towards it and I am very proud of her,” he concludes.
