I can’t wipe the smile off my face: Parul Chauhan
Parul Chauhan can’t contain her excitement as her wedding day is drawing closer. The Sapna Babul Ka- Bidaai actor will marry actor Chirag Thakkar, after having dated him for three years. “My wedding will be a simple one. We will have mehendi and haldi functions on December 11, with just my friends. I will have the traditional wedding in a temple on December 12 and a court marriage, too, on the same day. Then, there will be two receptions — one on December 16 in my native place, Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, for my family and one in Mumbai for my friends. I have been running errands and taking half-day offs from my shoot to make arrangements for my in-laws, and it has been quite hectic.”
The actor, busy shooting for her daily serial, is adamant on having a wedding as she had always imagined it. “I am not only designing saris for my trousseau but have also got specific jewellery pieces that brides traditionally wear in my community, including nose ring, toe rings, bangles etc.
I have gone mad shopping and I can’t wipe the smile off my face. I am looking forward to this new phase in my life,” she says.
Parul admits her parents would often bring up the topic of marriage, but she would tell them it would happen when it does. “Today, I am getting married to my best friend. What I love the most about Chirag is that he not only respects me but respects women in general,” she says.
