It’s time to relax for most Haryana candidates

ROHTAK: After hectic campaignin­g that lasted more than a fortnight most candidates heaved a sigh of relief after voting was over in Haryana on Thursday.

While some took to playing games others chose to spend time with their friends and family.

Chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda played badminton with his friends at the local lawn tennis court on Friday morning. He defeated Rohtak MLA BB Batra in several rounds. Later, he spent time at his residence in model town before leaving for Delhi.

Batra, who campaigned for the chief minister’s son Deepender Singh Hooda in Rohtak, spent his time meeting party workers.

Aam Aadmi Party nominee Naveen Jaihind also held meetings with party workers. Addressing a press conference he said the Rohtak unit of party workers would soon leave for Varanasi and Amethi to support Arvind Kejriwal and Kumar Vishwas in their political battle.

BJP Rohtak LS candidate Om Prakash Dhankhar chose to wake up late on Friday. He met party workers to get their feedback about Thursday’s voting.

INLD nominee Shamsher Kharkhada t hanked par t y workers for their support and planned to visit several villages in his area in the evening.

Mean while, Congress candidate from Bhiwani Mahenderga­rh Shruti Choudhry chose to unwind at home.

Her mother and state excise minister Kiran Choudhry met party workers.

BJP nominee Dharambir Singh spent time with his wife and children at his home in Bhiwani.
