RANCHI: Caterpillar Private Limited, a multinational company which holds expertise in designing mining equipment, proposed setting up of a mining equipment manufacturing unit in Adityapur, Jharkhand.

The proposal was made at the Jharkhand pavilion of MINExpo, 2016 in Las Vegas.

The team from Jharkhand left for a five-day tour to the USA on Sunday.

Caterpillar has been active in India since the 1930s. According to the company’s website, it manufactures 60 and 100-ton of highway trucks (OHT) in India for domestic and export markets. The company also introduced a 240-ton mining truck in India. OHTs are used only for mining purposes.
