All Jharkhand Student Union (AJSU) will mark the 25th death anniversary of Binod Bihari Mahto by laying the foundation of a 150 feet tall statue in Dhanbad.

AJSU district president Mantu Mahto said AJSU supremo and former deputy chief minister Sudesh Mahto will be present at the event on December 18. “The contribution of Binod Babu in the field of education is outstanding. His thoughts are relevant and revolutionary,” he said. “The motive behind the construction of `Statue of Revolution’ is to make the next generation aware about the life and works of Mahto.”

Standing tall at 150 feet, the Statue of Revolution will draw attention nationwide, the AJSU leader said.

Another AJSU leader Hiralal Mahto said the party will organise ‘Binod-jan-Panchayat’ at villages to commemorate the statehood movement and its unsung heroes.
