Petrol pump em­ployee robbed of Rs 3.36 lakh

DHAN­BAD: Two mo­tor-cy­cle borne crim­i­nals on Fri­day al­legedly robbed Rs 3.36 lakh from a petrol pump em­ployee while he was go­ing to Bank of In­dia (BOI) Bar­waada branch to de­posit the money.

The uniden­ti­fied crim­i­nals rid­ing a black mo­tor­cy­cle hit the em­ployee on his head with butt of the re­volver and snatched the bag he was car­ry­ing. They es­caped from the spot to­wards Govin­d­pur via Grand Trunk Road.

The em­ployee, Ra­man, has been ad­mit­ted to lo­cal nurs­ing home fol­low­ing in­juries on his head. The vic­tim hap­pens to be em­ployee of Khangarji petrol pump lo­cated at Kashitand lo­cal­ity un­der Bar­waada po­lice sta­tion.

The em­ployee reached the bank in a car owned by pump owner Ashok Shraf. How­ever, while Ra­man was about to en­ter the bank af­ter alight­ing from the car, the mis­cre­ants wait­ing there hit the em­ployee and es­caped with booty on two-wheeler.

Po­lice from Bar­wadda reached the spot and took stock of the in­ci­dent. “We have taken state­ment from the vic­tim em­ployee and the car driver. In­ves­ti­ga­tion is on,” said an of­fi­cer from Bar­wadda po­lice sta­tion.
