Petrol pump employee robbed of Rs 3.36 lakh
DHANBAD: Two motor-cycle borne criminals on Friday allegedly robbed Rs 3.36 lakh from a petrol pump employee while he was going to Bank of India (BOI) Barwaada branch to deposit the money.
The unidentified criminals riding a black motorcycle hit the employee on his head with butt of the revolver and snatched the bag he was carrying. They escaped from the spot towards Govindpur via Grand Trunk Road.
The employee, Raman, has been admitted to local nursing home following injuries on his head. The victim happens to be employee of Khangarji petrol pump located at Kashitand locality under Barwaada police station.
The employee reached the bank in a car owned by pump owner Ashok Shraf. However, while Raman was about to enter the bank after alighting from the car, the miscreants waiting there hit the employee and escaped with booty on two-wheeler.
Police from Barwadda reached the spot and took stock of the incident. “We have taken statement from the victim employee and the car driver. Investigation is on,” said an officer from Barwadda police station.
