Property dealer shot dead in Phulwarisharif
PATNA:: Three unidentified criminals shot dead a property dealer at his house in Phulwarisharif sub-division of Patna on Friday.
Police said three men fired at property dealer Hemant Kumar Sharma alias Babloo, 45, soon after he came out of his house at Mahugupur village in Janipur police station area for morning stroll. The incident took place at 7.30 am, the police said.
A police officer said the motorcycle-borne criminals fled after the incident. “Sharma was immediately taken to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. He was the brother of Abha Devi, a former mukhiya,” he said.
As the news of Sharma’s murder spread in the area, a large number of people took to streets, demanding arrest of the killers. The situation was brought under control when local police rushed to the spot and pacified the irate mob.
Locals said Sharma had survived an attack on his life around 25 days ago also. A case was then lodged with Janipur police station against the co-villager Santu and Mantu. The locals blamed police inaction for the murder of Sharma..
Station house officer (SHO) of Janipur police station Mohan Prasad Singh said prima facie, a
dispute over money seemed to be the reason behind for the murder. “The police have detained some suspects for interrogation,” he added.
