Chelsea’s Hazard must decide over signing new contract: Sarri

LONDON: Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard must make up his mind whether he wishes to commit to Chelsea and extend his contract worth a rumoured £350,000 ($450,000) a week, manager Maurizio Sarri said.

The 27-year-old was linked with a move to Real Madrid. “The club is available to sign a new contract immediatel­y, but it’s up to him if he wants to renew or not,” said Sarri.

CITY’S WINDFALL

PARIS: Manchester City received more money from FIFA than any other club from their players’ participat­ion at the 2018 World Cup, the European Club Associatio­n (ECA) said on Tuesday. FIFA gave the Premier League club just over USD 5 million in reference to their 16 players selected for their national teams.

NEWYORK: Ex-Guatemala football chief and former FIFA executive committee member Rafael Salguero, 72, pleaded guilty to accepting bribes in a US court, and will be sentenced by a judge in New York this week. Salguero agreed to return USD 168,000 received in bribes.
