JAMSHEDPUR: Police on Friday busted a mini gun factory here at Daiguttu locality under Mango police station (PS) in Jamshedpur and arrested an arms dealer, who had supplied the gun used in Sonari shootout on November 26, police said on Friday.

“We arrested an arms dealer Govind Sharma and sealed his mini gun factory in Daiguttu area today. We have seized 35 tools and tackles used in making guns apart from a single-shot gun and 315 bullets from his possession. Confession of Kishan Balmuchu, one of the accused in firing on Rakesh Dubey in Sonari on November 26, led us to Govind and his gun factory,” said Arun Kumar Mahatha, Mango PS officer-in-charge (OC).

Police said Kishan Balmuchu confessed Sharma supplied guns to him in Daiguttu. “We produced him in court today from where he was sent to 14 days judicial custody,” Mahatha added. Govind was allegedly making single-shot country made guns for five years.
