Das promises housing, skills to displaced people
RANCHI: Chief minister Raghubar Das said on Sunday that 2019 would be the year of poverty alleviation. He said that families displaced during land acquisition for the core capital area would get housing and access to skill development programmes.
The chief minister met the displaced families, who gathered under the banner of Hatia Visthapit Parivar Samiti in Dhurwa area of Ranchi. “Those faced with displacement threat will be provided 2 BHK houses/flats on the line of Adarsh colony, to rehabilitate the displaced families of Kute village (for construction of the new Assembly building),” said the CM, asking the Hatia Visthapit Parivar Samiti to prepare a list of children who could be trained under the skill development programme.
Das added that the state government had earmarked ₹700 crore for skill development in the current fiscal year.
He added that an infrastructure development drive was under way in the state, and this would require skilled hands and human resources. The youth should be prepared to grab the new opportunities, he said.
The CM also spoke of women’s empowerment and enumerated schemes, present and future, for girls and women.
Hatia Visthapit Parivar Samiti president Pankaj Shahdeo, patron Karma Oraon, local MLA Navin Jaiswal and others were present at the CM’s meet.
