The incident took place on January 26. The scared girl kept mum for over a month and on Friday decided to lodge a complaint, demanding immediate arrest of the three constables.

The woman met senior superintendent of police (SSP) Nitin Tiwari on Friday and gave her complaint to him, demanding stern action against the three constables.

She also forwarded her complaint to the chief minister, Yogi Adityanath and the director general of police (DGP), OP Singh.

Confirming the development, SP (city) Akhilesh Narayan Singh said that the SSP forwarded her complaint to Civil Lines police station.

“Circle officer of the Civil Lines area is investigating the matter,” he said.

In her complaint, the victim said that one of her distant relatives, who is a constable in Uttar Pradesh police and presently posted at Bagpat jail, often visited her home.

“On day, he suggested her parents to spend some money if they wanted their daughter to become a constable. He demanded Rs 10 lakh and her parents provided him Rs 8 lakh. He also collected her educational certificates in January. Few days later, he returned with the news that state jail minister has telephoned the DIG jail, regarding her appointment and now she has to appear before the officer,” Singh said, quoting her complaint.

According to the victim, on January 26, he (relative) came with two constable friends at her home and took her in a car (without registration number) for meeting with the senior officer. They offered her cold drink mixed with sedative and confined her in a room.
