RANCHI: Chief minister Raghubar Das on Monday said Jharkhand could get rid of ‘migration’ stigma by creating job opportunities, which is gradually becoming possible with business-friendly environment in the state.

Das was speaking at a review meeting on ‘Ease of doing business (EoDB) ranking and feedback based business reform action plan’ held at project building.

Jharkhand is currently at fourth position in ease of doing business ranking in the country. “Our target is to take the state at first place of the ranking. Even as we have developed such arrangement where people need not make rounds of departments, more works needed to be done,” Das said.

He said the objective of the meeting was to make Jharkhand number one state in EoDB, which aimed to make all facilities available to investors through single window system.

“Make all parameters surveyed by world bank in EoDB to achieve the target,” CM said, adding, online departments’ information, online fee deposit, providing services in timeframe, constitution of a separate court to deal with the business related issues, simplification of labour law and environment clearance facilities would be surveyed by the world bank.

and improvement in EoDB have attracted the investors to Jharkhand. “The state saw investment of crores of rupees in last two-three years. Textile and food processing units were established. The Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA) has provided lands to 430 industrial units till date since 2016, which have created 60,778 direct jobs,” Das said.

The chief minister said stopping migration through employment was government’s utmost priority. Jharkhand is blessed with natural resources. Forty percent natural resources are available here. “Investors, through their hard work, are using these natural resources to make Jharkhand a developed state. This is not only benefiting them but also the people of the state,” he said.

The chief minister said the poverty in the state would be eliminated and migration would stop only after establishment of industry. “The government wants that people get jobs in the state and they need not move out of state for employments,” he said.
