OVER 100 DEAD IN CENTRAL BIHAR HEAT WAVE

Over 100 people are said to have died in various parts of the state due to the ongoing heatwave conditions, which have worsened in the past four days. The district magistrate of Gaya, one of worst affected areas, has issued prohibitor­y orders to ban all public activities in the day time by invoking section 144 of the CrPC. The maximum temperatur­e in central Bihar region, including Patna, has been hovering around 42-46 degree Celsius for the past three days. Met officials said central Bihar might get some relief in next few days.
