Acid attack victim released from PMCH amidst tight security
RANCHI: An acid victim, daughter of a vernacular daily news paper reporter, was released from Patliputra Medical College Hospital here amidst tight security cover by the district administration on Wednesday.
PMCH superintendent Dr HK Singh said, as she her wounds were recovered after the treatment, she was released from hospital. “She had wound on left hand which was treated properly”, he said.
Two bike borne youth allegedly hurled acid on the girl, a class 10 student, when she was going for tuition in the late afternoon around 4 pm on Tuesday.
Girl was admitted at PMCH in the evening where doctors shifted her in ICU.
Dhanbad (Rural) superintendent of police Aman Kumar after getting information also reached the spot in the evening and conducted inquiry about the incident.
On his directive, deputy superintendent of police (DSP-2) Sarita Murmu also reached PMCH and took statement of the victim girl who couldn’t recall any assaulter.
“Statement of girl has been taken and the police are making list of her friends for interrogation to unearth the incident”, he said to media persons.
Father of victim said, though the district administration has deployed two women constables for her security round the clock, the student is in panic as not a single assaulter has been arrested even after 24 hours of incident.
“We couldn’t keep her confined in room round the clock. She wouldn’t go to school and tuition as she fears assaulters may attack her again”, said father of the victim girl.
