Leaders in Palamu switch parties to meet their ambition
DALTONGANJ: Political scene in Palamu region that goes to polls in the first phase of assembly elections on November 30 has been changing fast even as leaders switch to political parties to suit their electoral aspirations.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Anju Singh, Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJP) leader Birendra Kushwaha, All Jharkhand Student Union (AJSU) leader Rudra Kumar Shukla were among the few turning to new political bosses.
Incidentally, the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) Prajatantrik turned out to a new home for the leaders who lost the opportunity of contesting election mostly on account of the seat going to rival party as per the seat sharing arrangement.
Anju Singh, wife of Abhimanuy Singh, had come second on Bishrampur assembly seat in 2014 assembly election has joined the JVM after the seat went to Congress as the seat sharing arrangement in the opposition camp. She will now contest from Bishrampur, presently represented by the Jharkhand health

minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi, on a JVM ticket. The party announced her candidature late on Friday evening.
Similarly, LJP leader Birendra Kushwaha also joined JVM. The party also made him a candidate from the Hussainabad seat. Kushwaha had to switch over to other party after the LJP leadership failed to bag this seat from the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) led ruling alliance in their kitty. Even the LJP parliamentary board chief Chirag Paswan had campaigned for him in September.
The AJSU leader Rudra, who has been working hard in Panki assembly seat for some years, joined the JVM to contest election. Soon after his induction in the party fold, Marandi announced his candidature from Panki seat.
In a surprising development, JVM leader Dilip Singh Namdhari, also the son of veteran politician from Palamu region Inder Singh Namdhari late on Thursday announced his decision not to contest assembly election from Daltonganj seat. He was a frontrunner for a JVM ticket on this seat. Soon after Namdhari’s refusal to contest election, the JVM inducted Dr Rahul Agrawal as a replacement. He even filed nomination papers on Friday as a JVM candidate.
