J’khand tally 469 with 11 fresh cases

Two patients, including a pregnant woman, test positive in Ranchi

RANCHI: Jharkhand registered 11 fresh Corona positive cases on Thursday taking the state tally of Covid-19 cases to 469, officials said.

Ranchi civil surgeon (CS) VB Prasad said, two patients tested positive in Ranchi on Thursday, including a pregnant woman.

“The pregnant woman had visited the out patient department (OPD of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) tested positive. She had come from Ranchi’s Chandni Chowk,” he added.

Besides, a person, who was admitted at Medica hospital for treatment and was discharged on

Wednesday, was also found Covid-19 positive after his test reports came on Thursday, he said.

The man, a resident of Loyadih, was brought back to RIMS.

Prasad said, “Three other persons, who were admitted at Medica including one each from Gumla, Giridih and Dhanbad, also tested positive on Thursday. However, one person, who was from Giridih, died yesterday.”

Two migrant workers who had returned from Mumbai tested positive in Garhwa.

Garhwa CS, NK Rajak said, “The two persons were sent to a quarantine centre after coming from Mumbai. We are gathering more informatio­n about them.”

Two persons from Gumla were also test positive on Thursday. They had also returned from Mumbai, officials said.

Two migrants also tested Covid-19

positive in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand on Thursday evening, taking the district’s tally to 32 .

Both hailed from Chakulia and were put under institutio­nal quarantine after they had returned to the district from Maharashtr­a, East Singhbhum officials said. Both have now been admitted to Tata Main Hospital (TMH).

With 15 patients in West Singhbhum, and five in Seraikela-Kharsawan, the total number of Covid-19 patients have now gone up to 52 in Kolhan division.
