Free trains to run till all UP migrants are back home safe, says CM Yogi Adityanath
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said the state government was committed to ensure the safe return of all migrant workers to Uttar Pradesh.
Reviewing the lockdown situation at a meeting here, Yogi said a list of workers wanting to come back should be sought from the respective state governments and arrangements for free trains for their return journey should be made.
He said about 27 lakh migrant workers have already reached the state and free trains would continue to run till all workers wanting to return are back in UP safely.
The chief minister said a list of migrant workers belonging to other states and residing in UP should be provided to the respective state governments to send them back safely. He said arrangements made at quarantine centres and community kitchens should be strengthened further and added that food should be provided to the needy to ensure that no one was left hungry.
Yogi said the migrant workers found fit in screening at quarantine centres should be sent back to their homes for home quarantine. He said a kit of food grains and sustenance allowance of Rs 1,000 should be given to them while sending them for home quarantine.
Yogi said cleanliness should be ensured at the quarantine centres and community kitchens.
He said regular communication should be maintained with members of vigilance and monitoring committees to get feedback about their work.
The chief minister said facility for Covid-19 testing should be strengthened through micro planning and the number of tests being carried out per day should be increased to 10,000 per day.
He expressed satisfaction over availability of pulse oximeters in different districts and said infra-red thermometers should also be made available in sufficient numbers in all the districts.
The chief minister was informed that training was being conducted to staff of medical and health department to enable them use ventilators.
He said N-95 masks, PPE kits, triple layer masks, gloves, sanitisers, stretchers and wheelchairs should also be made available in sufficient quantity in hospitals.
