State IMA felicitates Corona warriors for dedicated services
DHANBAD: On the occasion of National Doctors’ Day, the Jharkhand chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Wednesday felicitated five Covid-19 warriors of Ranchi for their dedicated services to patients amid the coronavirus pandemic.
While felicitating the doctors, former national president of IMA Dr Ajay Kumar Singh praised the ongoing contribution of these doctors for their round-the-clock services to patients of coronavirus.
Those felicitated were Ranchi civil surgeon Dr BB Prasad, CCL Hospital medical superintendent Dr (Maj) Shilpi, senior medical officer of CCL Hospital Dr Arvind Chouhan, RIMS gynaecology PG 2nd year student Dr Tulika Sinha and RIMS lab technician Rajiv Kumar.
Ranchi IMA president Dr G D Banerjee, secretary Dr Shambhu Prasad, state vicepresident Dr Bimlesh Kumar Singh, Dr BP Kashyap also came forward to give an address on the occasion.

to pay tribute to all medical professionals who have ethically treated patients and served the society irrespective of all odds. But, this year IMA Jharkhand celebrated the occasion in a simple way, keeping in view the lockdown restrictions.
“We doctors are dedicating our services to patients and the government to help fight this outbreak. Now, the government should come forward to protect the doctors and secure their lives and clinics by promulgating the Medical Protection Act”, he said.
Moreover, nursing homes and hospitals in different districts held a free-of-cost general well-being camp between 10am and 1pm and conducted free blood pressure and blood sugar check-ups, and ECG to mark Doctors’ Day. On the Jamshedpur IMA premises, a blood donation camp was organised to mark the day, while the Dhanbad IMA felicitated doctors at dedicated Covid-19 hospital on Wednesday evening.
