Social distancing vital to check corona spread: Yogi
THE CHIEF MINISTER SAID RAPID ANTIGEN TEST SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED AND MEASURES FOR PROTECTION AGAINST COVID-19 SHOULD BE APPROPRIATELY PUBLICISED.
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said testing capacity should be increased to 30,000 tests per day even as he expressed satisfaction over more than 25,000 tests per day being held now and availability of 1.5 lakh beds in Covid hospitals.
He said precautions should be taken on a regular basis for protection against Covid-19 during the Unlock-2.
Reviewing implementation of Unlock-2 at a high level meeting at his official residence here, Yogi also stressed upon the need for effective social distancing to check spread of Covid-19. He said Covid-19 protocol should be strictly followed and mandatory use of face cover or mask should be ensured. He said police patrolling should be intensified further and no crowd should be allowed to assemble anywhere.
He said health screening teams had an important role and they should go door to door to screen people. He said data obtained from the medical screening teams should be monitored as this would help in effectively checking the spread of Covid-19.
The chief minister said rapid antigen test should be encouraged and measures for protection against Covid-19 should be appropriately publicised. Covid-19 helpdesk should be set up in all government and private institutes.
He said there was a need to pay special attention to Meerut division and a 10-day special drive for door to door screening should be organised in all districts of the division. Work for water conservation should be done through MNREGA. Industrial units should run to full capacity following the security protocol for protection against Covid-19, he said.
The CM said all arrangements should be made to check locust attacks and zero budget farming should be encouraged through agriculture science centres.
