JAIPUR: The Chittorgarh police are yet to find a clue in the murder of a 17-year-old boy studying in Class 10 who was killed on Tuesday. According to police officials, the body of the boy was found in a shallow pit in a forest area near Ghata village coming under Parsoli police station; the spot is around two kilometers from the residence of the victim.

“The minor boy was living in his uncle’s house for studies. His parents live in Neem K Khera village, four kilometers from the spot. The victim, after appearing in one of the papers of the board exam on Monday, came back home. After taking rest for some time, he went to Begun town and came back after an hour; he then started preparing for the next examination. On Tuesday morning, the aunt of the victim found him missing,” said Tripti Vijayvargiya, additional superintendent of police, Chittorgarh.

After he went missing, his aunt informed the boy’s brother and other relatives. The relatives informed the police and started searching for the boy. On Tuesday afternoon, the body of the boy was found in the shallow pit. A dog squad and a forensic experts’ team were called to the spot, Vijayvargiya said.

In a preliminary probe the police have come to know that the uncle of the victim is an accused in case lodged under the NDPS Act and is absconding for the last one month. The mobile which Dhakar used to use is also missing, the police officer said.

“So far we are clueless. Why would somebody will kill a Class 10 student? The accused must have some strong reason. We are doing scientific investigation of the case. The postmortem report reveals that boy was hit by a sharp weapon behind the skull and on the forehead. His body was dragged and then kept in the pit. There are no signs of struggle which means he was hit on the backside after which victim got unconscious and later he was hit on the front side,” Vijayvargiya said. Asked about the uncle of the victim, booked under NDPS Act, she said a huge stock of opium was recovered from the house of the accused.
