Raj Covid tally reaches 22,678
JAIPUR/JODHPUR: Rajasthan reported 115 fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking the state total to 22,678. Four deaths were reported in the state, according to the health department.
The number of active cases which have seen a steady rise since the last week of June crossed 5,000 and stood at 5043, as per the Covid bulletin issued by the health department on Friday morning.
Of the four deaths, one each was reported from Sawai Madhopur, Bikaner, Ajmer and Bharatpur districts, as per the health department. The cumulative deaths number 495.
Pali district reported the highest number of 35 cases. The total figure in the district has gone up to 1,377. Jaipur district reported 22 cases, taking its total to 3,781.
Ajmer district saw 10 cases while Alwar and Bharatpur districts reported nine cases each.
Nagaur district reported seven cases while Kota district reported six cases. Jhunjhunu district saw five cases and Ganganagar district recorded four cases.
Sawai Madhopur recorded three cases and Chittorgarh two cases. Tonk Bundi and Jhalawar reported one case each.
The total number of recovered patients in the state is 17,140. The number of migrants testing positive is 5833 and the total samples taken is 9,87,272.
BJP MLA TESTS POSITIVE
BJP MLA from Ajmer south, Anita Bhadel, has tested positive for the Sars Cov 2 virus.
Bhadel was tested two days back and her test result came on Friday. Bhadel has isolated herself in her home.
Several BJP leaders and office workers were anxious after the news as Bhadel had visited the BJP office two days back. Many people have isolated themselves at their homes.
Among those she met were deputy leader of opposition Rajendra, Jaipur MP Ramcharan Bohra, both of whom got themselves tested.
JUDGE’S PRIVATE SECY TESTS POSITIVE
Judicial work in the principal bench of the Rajasthan high court was suspended for the second consecutive day on Friday after a judge’s private secretary tested positive for Covid-19.
The medical and health department has taken samples of a judge and his family, including 201 judicial employees who were in close contact with the private secretary.
On Thursday, the registrar general issued a notification to suspend judicial work after a private secretary was found positive for Covid-19. Another notification was issued suspending judicial work on Friday.
In view of the coronavirus infection, a meeting will be held through videoconferencing on July 13 to decide the modalities of court proceedings,.
