UP plans virtual 3D show to promote scheme
AGRA: Uttar Pradesh’s minister for investment, export promotion and MSMEs Siddharth Nath Singh on Friday said that to promote ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) scheme of state government, a virtual 3D exhibition of selected products would be organised by August 15.
“We are also considering options to promote ODOP scheme online and have come up with UPID (Uttar Pradesh Institute of Designing) in Lucknow to impart technology related training to the stakeholders,” he said.
Applauding the various initiatives launched by Central government for making India a ‘AtmaNirbhar’ Bharat, Singh via a video conferencing said, “Finance ministry has announced several packages to support the Indian economy and the vision of prime minister’s ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’, will be a reality in near future.”
He said that with establishing of manufacturing units in Defence Corridor in Aligarh it would be locals who would get preference in jobs.
Talking to media persons, the minister said Emergency Credit Loan scheme announced by the government would promote MSMEs in UP.
“Besides, schemes like ‘One Nation One Ration Card, relief schemes for poor and MNREGA, and other plans which aim to double the income of farmers, are working well. Efforts are on to pass on the benefits to actual end user,” he said.
The call of prime minister ‘Vocal for Local and Global’ would further enhance the possibilities of these schemes. Various measures were being taken in areas near Varanasi, Mau and Azamgarh, to help weavers,
Singh said.
Replying to a question, minister assured to take measures for replacing the 130-year-old water pipe line in Agra which often suffers breakages in summers.
Talking about restrictions brought into force from 10pm on Friday night to 5am Monday in the state, minister said that step was taken for mixed reasons.
“Around 1000 Covid 19 cases have been reported in the state within 24 hours; as people are taking the unlock phase casually in several places where restriction were relaxed. It is also the time when weather related communicable diseases start spreading. Thus, to check spread of the Covid virus and the diseases, these restrictions are being imposed,” he added.
