Get registered by Jan 30 or face fine of ₹50,000: Health secretary
DHANBAD: The health department has given 10 days time to private health clinics, nursing homes, hospitals and diagnostic centres of state to get registered under Clinical Establishment Act, 2010, by January 30 or face fine of ₹50,000.
Principal secretary health Dr Nitin Madan Kulkarni on Wednesday issued notification in this regard giving ultimatum that government would take legal action as per the Act after January 30 against any establishment found without registration/ renewal with health department.
As per Section 11 of Clinical Establishment Act, 2010, no individual person, institution can run any type of clinic, nursing home, hospital and diagnostic centre in state without registration.
Under Section 41 (I) of Clinical Establishment Act, an unregistered private clinic, nursing home, hospital could be fined upto ₹50,000 first time, ₹2 lakh second time and ₹5 lakh third time.
“All private health establishments have been informed through this notification to get registered or renewal done under the Act by January 30, thereafter, the health department would initiate legal action against defaulters” said principal secretary health Dr Nitin Madan Kulkarni.
In Jharkhand, there are 8,031 health centres ( allopathic7664, Ayurveda-427, Unani-76, Siddha -7, Homeopathy-310, Yoga- 77, Naturapathy-47 runs.
Under the Clinical Establishment Act, it is mandatory for clinic ,hospital, diagnostic centre to display name of doctor, his qualification, service fee, registration number of medical council in Hindi and English language at reception counter so that patient could know prior information.
Nodal officer Dr SN Jha and state coordinator of Clinical Establishment Act Rahul Kumar Singh said for training and benefit , workshops are being organised for health centre operators regularly across state.
So far, workshop and orientation programmes have been organised in 13 districts in current financial year.
“Due to Corona pandemic, all districts could not be covered but health department has accelerated the pace to achieve the target. Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Dumka, Deoghar and other have been covered”, said Rahu Kumar Singh.
