State likely to witness cloudy weather, light rains on Saturday
RANCHI: Most parts of Jharkhand are likely to experience cloudy sky with light rains on Saturday, weather department officials said on Thursday.
The change in weather might be visible from Friday afternoon. However, the weather condition might give some relief from the chilly night for next couple of days.
Deputy director at Ranchi centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Abhishek Anand, said, “There is a circulation over Jharkhand due to induced western disturbance, which will cause cloudy weather and light rains in most parts of the state on Saturday. There is also possibility of thundering activity at few places.”
As per the prediction of weather department, state’s southern, western and central parts could experience cloudy weather and light rains on Saturday.
“The weather is expected to get clear on Sunday. But, night temperature will again start falling,” he said.
Ranchi on Thursday recorded minimum temperature at 9.2 degree Celsius, two degrees below the normal. The night mercury could scale up to
12 degree Celsius on Thursday night, according to the prediction of weather department.
Bokaro recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature at 6.6 degree Celsius, three notches below the normal, while Daltonganj recorded minimum 8.1 degree Celsius.
Jamshedpur registered the minimum temperature at 9.0 degree Celsius, four notches below the normal, while Chaibasa recorded minimum at 7.6 degree Celsius, six degree Celsius below the normal.
The weather is expected to get clear on Sunday. But, temp likely to fall again at night. ABHISHEK ANAND, Deputy director, IMD
