CINEMA HALLS, EDUCATIONA­L INSTITUTIO­NS, PARKS TO REOPEN TODAY

RANCHI: After nearly a year of closure, amusement parks, cinema halls, and educationa­l institutio­ns will reopen in Jharkhand from Monday. The decision was taken recently on getting approval from disaster management department in this regard.

However, standard Covid-19 protocol will be required to be followed at all places.

With the decision, schools and colleges will start buzzing, as offline physical classes of classes 8, 9 and 11 in all government and private schools will resume from March 1.

There are about 1,500 private and 14,000 government schools in Jharkhand. Physical classes of students of classes 10 and 12 had already started from December 16.

However, the government was yet to decide on resuming school for primary classes up to standard 7.

School management­s have been issued guidelines for reopening by state education department, with wearing masks, carrying hand sanitisers and maintainin­g social distancing made mandatory. Besides, coaching centres will also come alive from Monday.

Chief minister Hemant soren said the state government delayed the reopening of all such places knowingly to protect the denizens, students in particular. He appealed to the people to follow Covid-19 standard operating procedures and cooperate with respective management bodies and local administra­tion.

Meanwhile, authoritie­s of cinema halls and amusement parks cleaned up premises and parks.

Ranchi mayor Asha Lakra said visitors will not be allowed to enter without masks and appealed people.
