Generators to be installed at six Covid-19 hospitals in Dhanbad
DHANBAD: Dhanbad deputy commissioner(DC) cum District Disaster Management (DDM) on Wednesday directed immediate installation of high power diesel generator at six private Covid-19 hospitals for maintaining uninterrupted power supply.
The move came based on an audit report of an expert committee. “Our mission is maintain continuous supply of oxygen and electricity at all dedicated hospitals. Since experts team felt requirement of generators at these hospitals for emergency, the DDM has ordered to install them immediately,” said DC Umashankar Singh.
The committee in its report expressed apprehension over power supply during heavy rains and storms that are likely to hit the region this month. It also
recommended alternative arrangements for power supply at the select hospitals, namely Asharfi Hospital, Asian Jalan hospital, Pragati Nursing Home, Patliputra Nursing Home, Park Clinic, Raj Clinic and Research Centre.
Earlier on Tuesday and Monday, power supply was disrupted in the district for more than four hours after light rains and storm.
The district administration last week ordered the audit of fire safety at all dedicated Covid hospitals.
As many as 1,627 Covid-19 patients were undergoing treatment in Dhanbad, officials said.
The DC late on Tuesday night inspected the Sadar Hospital’s ICU unit and oxygen supports beds. He expressed satisfaction over night services of doctors and health staff.
