Kolkata to be Durand Cup venue for 5 years

KOLKATA: Having moved home in 2019, the Durand Cup, Asia’s oldest football tournament and the third oldest in the world, will stay in Kolkata till 2025. This was confirmed by Lt Gen KK Repswal, chief of staff Eastern Command on Thursday. After a gap of one year because of Covid-19, the 130th edition of the Durand Cup will start on Sunday with 16 teams including holders Gokulam Kerala. The final is on October 3.
