Freddy hits back at Deepika over ‘moron’ jibe

-

The sartorial sensibilities of Gehraiyaan actors Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday, while promoting the film, have turned prey for memers of late, and joining the party is social media influencer Freddy Birdy. Known for his wry sense of humour, Birdy shared a post on social media four days ago that read: “Newton’s Law of Bollywood. The clothes will get tinier as the Gehraiyaan release date approaches”.

But, his post didn’t go down well with Padukone’s fans, many of

whom slammed him as “sexist”. Moments after his post, Padukone shared a cryptic note on Instagram that read, “Scientists say the universe is made of protons, neutrons, and electrons. They forgot to mention morons,” along with #IYKYK sticker, supposedly directed towards Birdy.

Addressing the ongoing row, Birdy clarified on Monday that he wasn’t in any way mocking the actor’s choice of outfits: “You can wear your hemlines till your toes or your ears. For all I care. And thank you for calling me a ‘moron’. It’s the* only non-fake thing you’ve uttered in your entire career. Love, Fred.” His Instagram account is now private.

Padukone’s fans even hit out at actor Mrunal Thakur for supposedly liking Birdy’s first post. Responding to a troll, Thakur tweeted, “Bhai you are so mentally sick I wish I could get you some flowers and slam it on your face and thank you for spreading hate! Just to let you know I admire Deepika. Having said that I feel you must get yourself a life, rather than sitting at home and spreading hate, spread love!”
