75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow was conceived as a unique platform of opportunities for the youth, artistes and creatives.

The International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which will be held from November 20 to 28, is set for its 53rd edition, and the aim to encourage creative minds remains as solid as ever. Many artistes under the 75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow programme have been chosen and this will be the second time when selected few will be visiting IFFI free of cost.

Speaking about his vision for this programme, Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur, says, “75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow was conceived as a unique platform of opportunities for the youth, artistes and creatives, especially from far-flung areas, to learn, engage and network with the Indian film fraternity at the IFFI in Goa.”

Revealing that nearly 1,000 entries were received from 19 Indian states, Thakur adds, “They came from places like Lakhimpur and Sonitpur in Assam, Khordha in Odisha, Krishna Puram and Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh, Theni in Tamil Nadu and Bhandara in Maharashtra, to name a few, out of which 75 were handpicked. I congratulate all and look forward to meeting all of them at IFFI.”

Veterans from various fields, including lyricist Prasoon Joshi, sound designer Resul Pookutty and filmmaker R Balki, have chosen these names. A 10-member grand jury and a 10-member selection jury finalised the candidates, aged between 18-35. Some names include Chaitanya Kabe (direction) from Maharashtra, Vignesh Paramsivam (scriptwriting) from Tamil Nadu, Prang Priyadarshan Bhoi (editing) from Odisha, Sunpreet Singh (animation/VFX/R/VR) from Delhi, among others. The selected artistes will go on an all-expense-paid trip that includes their travel, stay, local transportation and access to IFFI.

They will be attending sessions and workshops curated by the grand masters of international cinema, and also witness the business of cinema at the Film Bazaar.
