YOUTH FOUND DEAD IN ROOM, KIN SAY MURDER

A 23-year-old youth was found dead in his house in the Jethuli area in Patna on Wednesday, police said.

According to police, the incident came to light at around 8.30 am when the sister of the deceased, identified as Sumit Kumar, went to his room but found the door locked.

“When she opened the door, she found Sumit lying in a pool of blood. The body has been sent for an autopsy,” police said.

Sumit’s elder brother Amit Kumar said that his brother was preparing for a competitive examination and alleged that he was shot dead while sleeping in his room.

“We do not know how it happened as we were fast asleep at night. We did not hear any gunshots,” he said.

The station house officer (SHO) of River police station, Akhilesh Kumar, said that the cause of the incident is being investigated.
