7-yr-old boy dies in ‘celebratory firing’

PATNA: A seven-year-old boy died in an alleged celebratory firing while playing at AwgilRampur village in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district on Tuesday, police said.

According to police, someone opened fire from inside a cowshed that hit the boy. “During the autopsy, five to six pelletslike objects were detected and removed from the body,” police said. ACP (Sadar) Syed Imran Masood said that a modified DBBL gun was recovered from a cowshed owned by one Krishna Deo. “A country-made pistol was also recovered from Deo’s house. His wife has been detained for questioning. CCTV footage of nearby areas are being scanned,” he said.
