The year has been a blessing for me

- Vinay MR Mishra

Actor Amruta Khanvilkar, who received a lot of love for her Marathi film Chandramukhi, has been enjoying a good run in the entertainment industry this year.

“The kind of response I’ve been getting from the audience this year, from both the Hindi and Marathi industries, has been amazing; it has been a blessing for me,” says Khanvilkar.*

The actor also celebrated her birthday in a grand way recently, something she claims to have never done before. “I come from a middleclass Maharashtrian family, where my sister and I used to celebrate together, because our birth dates are just three days apart. We used to cut one cake, either on my birthday or hers,” she reveals.

Khanvilkar’s party ended on a high note and was attended by her family and friends from the industry. She states that one of the reasons for going all out, was the love she received from the audience for her film Chandramukhi. “I did not take much work because of this film. I waited two years for it. But, when it came out, people appreciated my work. Wherever I go today, people don’t call me Amruta, they call me Chandra instead,” she says.

On the professional front, Khanvilkar wants to venture into South cinema now, after doing multiple Marathi and Hindi movies.
