Bhagwat hails former king of Darbhanga, winds up Bihar visit
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday hailed the erstwhile Maharaja of Darbhanga in Bihar, late Kameshwar Singh, and recalled his contribution to Mithila region in the state and towards nation building.
“He was well known for his benevolence. The Maharaja of Darbhanga had donated generously for establishment of Benaras Hindu University (BHU) and donated gold to the government of India during IndoChina war,” Bhagwat said while addressing Sangh volunteers at Dr Nagendra Jha stadium on LN Mithila University campus here on Monday morning.
He said he was elated to know that the RSS event being held in Darbhanga had coincided with the Maharaja’s 116th birth anniversary.
In his speech, the RSS chief said organizing the entire society effectively is the motto of the RSS. He said every person living in the country is a “Hindu”.
“Hindutva is the only idea in the world that believes in taking everyone along,” he said.
The Sangh chief had reached Darbhanga from Chapra on Sunday as part of four-day visit to Bihar, which ended Monday.
Bhagwat also visited to Rambagh palace and offered floral tributes to the last king of Khandvala dynasty on his 116th birth anniversary.
The esrtwhile Maharaja’s grandnephew Kapileshwar Singh was also present on the occasion.
