He left it at an ambiguous ‘yeah’: Sharman on requesting Rohit to cast him in Golmaal again

-

Actor Sharman Joshi, who starred in the first Golmaal (2006) — before being dropped from the next three films in the franchise — has now said that he has requested director Rohit Shetty to include him in the upcoming instalment.

Recently, the two appeared together in an ad. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Joshi revealed, “I did request him that I wanted to be a part of the next Golmaal and he said, ‘Yeah yeah’. That’s where it was left at, at an ambiguous yeah. So, I don’t know whether I will actually be a part of it, but I will be happy to be,” he said.

When asked why he didn’t return for the next three films,

Joshi said, “[There were] some management issues. My management was not communicating too well. Money was, of course, the factor. They were asking a price that the producers were not very comfortable with. I was not aware this was going on. By the time I got to know, I approached them... He (his manager) was doing a great job otherwise, but this was one thing that, unfortunately, didn’t work out.”

The actor added that he later smoothed things out with his manager as well as the production house, but a role never materialised for him.
