I was outraged: Kim K reacts to Balenciaga’s teddy bear shoot with kids
Kim Kardashian, who is a mother of four, expressed her anger towards the luxury fashion brand Balenciaga’s recent holiday campaign featuring kids holding teddy bears dressed up in what appeared to be bondage gear. The 42-year-old got furious over the campaign, claiming that she was shaken by the disturbing images.
The reality TV star took to her Instagram account and shared on her stories, “I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been disgusted and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened.” For the unversed, Kardashian has frequently collaborated with the luxury fashion brand in the past.
The renowned entrepreneur further said, “the safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society-period”. The supermodel also acknowledged the brand’s apology for the controversial campaign. However, she added that she is now re-evaluating her relationship with the brand. Kim Kardashian was recently picked as a brand ambassador for Balenciaga for the fight for the climate.
The campaign featuring BDSMinspired outfits was shot by Gabriele Galimberti. Speaking of the hate he was receiving on Instagram he wrote, “Accusations like these are addressed against wrong targets, and distract from the real problem, and criminals.”
The brand has addressed the controversy with an apology.
