Actor Avika Gor has managed to make a name for herself in both the television and film industries, with several Telugu movies to her credit. While she was supposed to make her Hindi film debut with 1920 - Horrors of the Heart, it was Kahani Rubberband Ki, which released last month, that eventually marked her entry into Bollywood.

Content with where she is today, Gor says things weren’t always hunky-dory. “Mostly, it (feeling low) was about the way I looked at myself. I used to get thoughts like, ‘I am not worthy of what I am getting’. I was doing good work. But I felt that this was not it. I wanted to do more for myself,” says the actor, who started out as a child artiste with the TV show Balika Vadhu.

Today, Gor is proud of overcoming this phase. On how she dealt with it, the actor tells us, “When I was at my lowest, I gave myself a fixed amount of time to cry or sulk, and when that time was over, I convinced myself not to think about it... I worked on it. Now, when I look back, I feel that if I can overcome that, I can do anything in life.”

Glad that she came out of it a stronger person, Gor says that now, she doesn’t even have the time to ponder over negative thoughts. “I believe the more you think about it, the more you feel the negativity within you. So, it’s better to focus on the positive,” she concludes.
