Training for officials in Bokaro dist held ahead of LS elections
A district administration organised a comprehensive training programme for the polling personnel of Bokaro district at the auditorium of Bokaro Ispat Vidyalaya on Monday, apprising them of their responsibilities during the discharge of duty as polling officers to ensure free, fair, and error-free elections, officials said.
The day-long training, conducted under the leadership of Saurabh Kumar Bhuwania, additional municipal commissioner of Chas Municipal Corporation, witnessed the presence of Jagannath Lohra, district education officer; Alok Pandey, district superintendent of education (DSE); and Avinash Kumar Pandey, assistant public relation officer.
Prameshwar Sharma, the district-level master trainer, guided the trainees about different forms to be sealed in different coloured envelopes.
Bhuwania further instructed the officials to begin the process of the mock poll 90 minutes ahead of the poll schedule at 5.30 a.m. at all polling booths and asked them to mandatorily follow mock polls with “close result clear”.
“The participants of the training were instructed to avoid any photography and videography of voting once the election begins on May 25, 2024. They have also been specified their respective places of seating at the polling booths,” one of the officials said.
Meanwhile, special training for the static surveillance team (SST), flying squads team (FST), video surveillance team (VST), and video viewing team (VVT) was also organised at the district panchayati raj auditorium under the leadership of Vijaya Jadhav, Bokaro deputy commissioner. During this training, the SST team members were instructed to maintain strict vigilance on check posts and borders. Jadhav also instructed them to properly maintain the register of vehicles and report to senior officials during the seizure of cash or any other objectionable material from any vehicle.
The FST team members, on the other hand, were apprised of the significance of the C Vigil App and the necessity of addressing all complaints made using the C Vigil App.
Prameshwar Sharma, the district-level master trainer who was also present during the training, said that to ensure the strict observance of the model conduct of conduct, to keep vigilance on the spending being carried out by the candidate, etc., SST, FST, VVT, and VST have been constituted, which will remain active 24x7. He also apprised all the trainees of different teams of SST, FST, VST, and VVT about their roles and responsibilities and reports to be submitted by them in different forms.
